A part of Abruzzo always dedicated to the culture of wine. After the Roman hegemony the heart of Abruzzo wine moved to the area of Tocco da Casauria and stayed there, almost exclusively, until the beginning of 900. This land soon revealed to be the most appropriate for the grapevine, until now, thanks to its great location. The strong winds that cross the nearby gorges, of the three mountains Gran Sasso, Majella and Morrone, keep dry the porous soil on which waters don’t remain in surface and dig deep Canyons. Tocco da Casauria thanks to its location, has now become a model in eco-friendly energy production and praised by the most prestigious international journals such as New York Times for its environmental policy and respect for nature, always deep-rooted in the spirit of its population.
